“It’s been as tough a time for someone, I think, in cricket terms,” said Key. “The timing of the shoulder dislocation and the chance of recurrence in the immediate future means Chris Woakes isn’t in our plans at the minute… at all.”
Woakes has struggled with fitness and form, and Key admitted that missing the Ashes start effectively pushed him out of England’s Test roadmap.
Harry Brook Becomes Vice-Captain
